the slow grind
the passing time
what you once wanted, but now have too much of - time on your hands, silence, nothing to do, boooooored,
time alone, trapped with your thoughts, the routine is over - for some, for good
friends away, for some, never to see again...

the trap is to feel stuck, to feel abandoned - without options.  Listen closely, listen carefully - do you hear His voice?  Do you feel His presence?  Do you feel His pleasure?  He is beckoning.  Better still, He is waiting, He is available, He is willing.  Why don't you go outside and play with Him?  Then the silence won't weigh a million pounds and your thoughts will no longer dwell on the loss, but on the hope.  Hope of new friendships, hope of new adventures, hope of new experiences that lead you homeward.  And while you're at it, why don't you bring along a fellow traveler.  I'm sure Jesus won't mind.
